Poverty Consciousness

Do you hear people complaining frequently about how poor they are?  They give us countless reasons why they cannot surmount the obstacles holding them back from true wealth and abundance.  Did you know that they have chosen what transformationalists call poverty consciousness?  They have made the choice to be poor.  This is hard to accept for most people, because it all happens under the radar unconsciously.

They want wealth, but think and focus on poverty.  The Universal laws state that “You get more of what you focus on”.  You hear them say “I want to be wealthy”, but they think, feel and act “poor”.

I used to believe that only hard work and struggle was the best way to success.  This did not get me anywhere.  I would enjoy a glimpse of success for a short time, and then it would all fizzle out.  This kept on repeating itself, making me work even harder.  I now realize that I was the one creating this situation.  It was all happening in my unconscious mind.  Even though things we’re working well for me on the outside, it was all short lived, because I was sabotaging my efforts due to my doubts, fears and thoughts of scarcity which translated into a poverty consciousness.

I have seen this type of thinking being repeated over and over again.  It is prevalent in every single country in the world and it affects every single age group in the world.

Did you know that we also have a readymade excuse for the situations we find ourselves in?  We live a life of mediocrity and the struggle that we create is just another way for us to cling to being victims.  It is another unconsciously created excuse for not having what we want.

The good thing is that we can turn this all around.  Our thoughts lead us to the actions and the results we produce.  So if we want better results we have to change our actions and ultimately how we think about things.  Wayne Dyer said it best “When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change”.

So if your life has been one of suffering, pain, struggle and strife in the past, you can change it NOW in this moment by simply reversing your thoughts and your actions.  Just focus on always thinking and doing the opposite of what you’ve been thinking and doing in the past.

The only thing that can stop you from your abundance is yourself.  Yes!  You are your own enemy.  There is nothing that can stop you from creating joy, happiness and abundance in your life from this point on.

Stay Conscious!
